The <strong>Teaching Committee of the Department of Health&#8217;s Multiprofessional Teaching Unit for Family and Community Care<\/strong> approved its inclusion last October, allowing second- and third-year residents in <strong>Family and Community Medicine at the Universitat de Lleida<\/strong> to undertake placements at our centre.<\/p><p>This development coincides with the implementation of the new <strong>Official Specialty Programme (POE)<\/strong>, a national training framework approved by the <strong>Ministry of Health<\/strong> that guides residents&#8217; training while allowing each teaching unit to adapt it to its circumstances. At <strong>Hestia Health Balaguer<\/strong>, residents will continue to rotate through <strong>Geriatrics<\/strong> and <strong>PADES<\/strong> (Home Care and Support Teams Programme), a service within the Catalan public network providing <strong>comprehensive palliative care at home.<\/strong><\/p><p>The <strong>Geriatrics<\/strong> rotation, previously undertaken in the geriatric emergency department at <strong>Hospital Universitario Arnau de Vilanova (HUAV), will now offer three options: the Interdisciplinary Health and Social Care Functional Unit (UFISS), the Semi-Acute Unit at Hospital Universitario de Santa Maria (HUSM) and Hestia Health Balaguer.<\/strong> This reorganisation broadens training options and diversifies learning settings, particularly in older people&#8217;s care and intermediate care.<\/p><p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/hestiahealth.es\/en\/\"><strong>Hestia Health<\/strong><\/a>, we continue to invest in talent and ongoing training as a foundation for high-quality care.
