Quality, environmental and occupational health and safety policy.

Hestia Health is a leading management group in intermediate care, mental health and assisted residential care. It declares its commitment to developing, maintaining and continually improving its integrated management system in order to comply with:

  • The requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 relating to quality, environmental management and occupational health and safety.
  • Current legislation.
  • All requirements and needs of our key stakeholders.
  • The requirements and guidelines established by the authorities of the autonomous communities in which we operate.

Our strategy is based on providing personalised care services, following a common management model that ensures quality care in all areas. Our strategic development priorities are therefore:

  1. Care for chronic diseases.
  2. Care for people with geriatric needs, palliative care needs, Alzheimer’s disease, other forms of dementia and neurological diseases with associated disabilities.
  3. Participation and empowerment.
  4. A person-centred approach to individuals with a mental health (MH) condition.
  5. Prevention of mental disorders, and promotion and protection of emotional wellbeing throughout all stages of life.
  6. A sectoral and social approach to MH.
  7. The MH sector’s contribution to addressing the structural and social determinants that affect mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  8. Access, quality and a focus on value. Accessible, high-quality mental health services.
  9. Comprehensive, integrated, multisectoral services that can be adapted to community settings, with an efficient and effective range of services.

To put this strategy into practice, we establish the following principles, developed through policies, plans, objectives and programmes for continuous improvement and review:

  • Exceed the expectations of service users and partner organisations.
  • Implement safe practices and minimise clinical risk.
  • Protect the environment and reduce environmental impact.
  • Protect employees’ health and wellbeing, while promoting their professional development.
  • Innovate and continually improve processes and services.
  • Measure and monitor key indicators to ensure the effectiveness of the system.
  • Foster a culture of safety and management of clinical and non-clinical risks.
  • Commit to consultation and participation involving employees and their representatives.
  • Encourage incident reporting and suggestions for improvement.
  • Commit to continuous improvement of the system.

Management commitments:

  • Comply with legal and voluntary requirements relating to quality, the environment and occupational health.
  • Establish the processes needed to integrate preventive activities at all levels.
