Recently, patients from the High Psychiatric Dependency Unit (ADP) at Hestia Health Duran i Reynals took part in a therapeutic outing to Sala Auditori to attend the concert “A Night at the Theatre”, a cultural event combining live music and stage performance.
The concert offered a journey through different musical pieces associated with the world of theatre, creating an immersive and accessible experience. Through music, performance and staging, participants were able to connect with different emotions, stimulate their attention and share a cultural activity in a community setting.
Activities like this form part of the ADP’s community intervention programme, organised and supported by Kanella Makri, occupational therapist at Hestia Health Duran i Reynals, with the aim of encouraging social participation, healthy leisure and emotional wellbeing. These experiences offer participants the opportunity to engage in meaningful situations outside the care environment, enhancing their social skills, confidence and connection with the community.
At Hestia Health, we approach mental health care holistically, complementing clinical care with experiences that strengthen independence, support recovery and reinforce active participation in the community.
