Entrena-MENT featured on the Official College of Social Work of Catalonia podcast

To coincide with World Mental Health Day, the Official College of Social Work of Catalonia dedicated a new episode of its podcast Treball Social entre bastidors (Social Work Behind the Scenes) to showcasing transformative mental health projects. Among the featured initiatives is Entrena-MENT, developed by Hestia Health Coroleu and Fundación Hestia.

Created in 2023, Entrena-MENT promotes sport as a tool for prevention, wellbeing and social inclusion. The project offers a meeting space for peers outside the hospital setting, encouraging the people receiving care to build relationships and adopt healthy habits.

In the podcast, Ángela Rial, a social worker and member of the TSCAT Mental Health Committee, explains her experience of launching the project, joined by Sergi and Pilar, participants who share how Entrena-MENT has made a positive contribution to their recovery.

The professionals highlight the importance of approaching mental health from a holistic perspective, also considering social determinants such as housing, financial circumstances, family relationships and isolation.

“Entrena-MENT allows us to support people in reclaiming roles, relationships and opportunities for participation within the community, beyond their disorder or the stage of life they are going through.”

—Ángela explains.

Through initiatives like this, Hestia Health reaffirms its commitment to a community-based, inclusive and person-centred model that encourages active participation and the overall wellbeing of the people receiving care.
