To mark World Environment Day, Hestia Health Duran i Reynals held a range of activities to promote environmental awareness among people supported by Mental Health, Intermediate Care and Sociocultural Activities services.
The programme combined participatory, educational and creative activities adapted to each group’s characteristics. Highlights included question-and-answer activities, interactive recycling games, the screening of a short film about the impact of human activity on the environment, and various recreational activities relating to sustainability. Through these activities, participants were able to explore issues around caring for the planet and adopting responsible habits.
The activities also included workshops on reusing materials and the circular economy. Based on the three Rs—reduce, reuse and recycle—participants made pendants and other decorative items from reused materials, took part in activities to identify the right bin for each type of waste, and created a collaborative recycling mural.
These initiatives addressed environmental awareness in a practical, accessible way, encouraging participation, learning and reflection on how each person’s everyday actions can contribute to collective wellbeing and care for the environment.
