At Hestia Health La Robleda, writing becomes a tool for encouraging emotional expression, creativity and participation among people admitted to the centre.
In this context, the centre held its fifth Spring Short Story Competition, an activity in which patients shared texts inspired by the season. The stories, written in a free style, were submitted anonymously to a judging panel made up of the centre’s Psychology team, who assessed the composition, coherence and cohesion of the texts, as well as their delivery. The three best stories received a food gift.
Beyond its literary dimension, this initiative offers a form of support focused on wellbeing. Through the written word, participants can give shape to emotions, memories and thoughts, strengthening their independence and valuing their voice within the care process.
At Hestia Health, we understand that caring also means creating spaces where every person can express themselves, feel heard and actively participate in their own progress.
