Environmental activities at the Hestia Health Esquerdo units

Hestia Health Esquerdo

The Occupational Therapy Department at Hestia Health Esquerdo developed a special programme of environmental activities across different care services at the centre to coincide with World Environment Day.

The initiative involved people receiving care in Private Inpatient Care, the Hospital Treatment and Rehabilitation Unit (UHTR), the Hospital Outpatient Treatment Centre (CHTA) and the Residence. Through activities adapted to each service, participants explored caring for shared spaces, the importance of responsible everyday habits, recycling and sustainability.

The programme included workshops on reusing materials, outdoor activities, participatory recycling activities and opportunities to reflect on the relationship between personal wellbeing and the environment. These activities were designed with the aim of encouraging participants’ involvement, promoting greater environmental awareness and the adoption of sustainable behaviour, and highlighting the role each person can play in protecting the environment.

At Hestia Health Esquerdo, we continue to promote therapeutic activities that contribute to the wellbeing of the people receiving care and encourage values such as responsibility, participation and respect for the environment.
