On 14 March, Hospital Universitario José Germain hosted the “Fourth Conference of Hospital Treatment and Rehabilitation Units (UHTRs) of the Community of Madrid 2025”. Hospital Hestia Esquerdo’s UHTR had the honour of taking part with a presentation entitled “Putting Humanisation in Psychiatry into Context: Humanisation Strategies and Proposals for Improvement in UHTRs”, delivered by Tamara del Olmo (social worker) and Silvia Rodríguez (occupational therapist), both professionals from the unit.
Silvia Rodríguez also presented a poster with the same title, sharing experiences and proposals on humanisation in mental health. Dr Nogueiras, the psychiatrist in charge of the UHTR, was a member of the event’s organising committee and moderated an expert panel.
We sincerely appreciate this opportunity to take part in a forum for training, reflection and knowledge exchange focused on improving care in UHTRs.
