Recently, Hestia Health Duran i Reynals organised a therapeutic outing to CaixaForum Barcelona to enjoy Symphony, an experience that brings symphonic music to the public through virtual reality.
The activity involved service users from the Mental Health Unit for High Psychiatric Dependency (ADP) and Borderline Personality Disorder (TLP). Organised by occupational therapist Kanella Makri, the outing aimed to promote community participation, facilitate access to the city’s cultural resources and encourage experiences connected with emotional wellbeing.
During the visit, participants were able to enter the world of music from an innovative, immersive perspective. Afterwards, there was an opportunity for dialogue in which they shared impressions and experiences, encouraging social interaction, emotional expression and stronger group relationships.
Initiatives like this form part of the unit’s occupational intervention programme, which supports meaningful activities focused on recovery, social inclusion and improving the wellbeing of the people receiving care.
At Hestia Health, we continue to promote activities connecting care, community and wellbeing through comprehensive, approachable and person-centred care.
