This week, the Hestia Health Palau team had the honour of taking part in the Infermeria i Salut Conference, organised by the Facultat de Ciències de la Salut Blanquerna, sharing a space for dialogue and reflection with nursing professionals, lecturers and students.
Our participation focused on a roundtable about the reality and experience of care, which addressed essential issues such as the therapeutic relationship, active listening and compassionate support. At Hestia Health, we consider these fundamental pillars of comprehensive, person-centred care.
The conference included a contribution from Elena Coloma, a clinical nurse with extensive experience in gerontology and palliative care, who shared an inspiring reflection on the value of being a nurse: “It is an art, a way of being both within and beyond professional life.” She was joined by Joan, a patient at Hestia Health Palau, creating a profoundly human and moving moment that reminded us of the essence of our work.
Also taking part was Carolina Taramón, Director of Nursing at Hestia Health Palau and a member of the faculty’s teaching team, reaffirming the importance of building bridges between care practice and academic education.
At Hestia Health, we are deeply grateful for the invitation to take part in this event and the opportunity to share our experience and vision of care. Meetings like this strengthen our commitment to professional, empathetic and approachable care that supports people at every stage of life.
Because caring means supporting, listening and growing together.
