Hestia Health took part in the first AEESME / Catalunya Mental Health Nursing Conference, held at Casa del Mar under the theme “Mental Health Nurses and Meaningful Care: Commitment, Support and Quality”. The event established itself as a forum for meeting and reflecting on the present and future of mental health nursing.
Nurses from Hestia Health Coroleu, Hestia Health Palau and Hestia Health Duran i Reynals attended, joining more than 200 mental health professionals. Their participation highlights Hestia Health’s involvement in developing specialist mental health nursing and raising its visibility.
Throughout the day, key issues in clinical practice and care were addressed, along with the main current mental health challenges across different care settings. Particular attention was also given to specialist training, interdisciplinary work and recognition of the role of mental health nursing.
The conference also included contributions from service users’ families, who shared their experiences with attendees. Their contributions enriched the discussion and enabled a deeper exploration of good practice and the importance of creating spaces for trust, continuous improvement and innovation in care.
Initiatives like this enable continued progress towards mental health nursing that is more visible, better recognised and more closely connected to the real challenges of care practice.
